Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
