Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, however can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
