Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to strengthen its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with 11 more preparing to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Situations

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” engineered to intercept Shahed drones. The system has been tested in combat and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of manufacturing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Latest Assault on the Capital Described as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and wicked” after six individuals were killed and many others wounded in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv.
